Mattie Taormina is the Head of Public Services and is a Processing Manuscripts Librarian for Stanford University’s Special Collections and University Archives. Her career in archives began with an archival internship at the Archdiocese of San Francisco in 1993 and she has worked continuously in our field since then. Seeking to be familiar with all facets of information management, she has worked in records management, political research, museums, and various other archival and library repositories. Before coming to Stanford in 2006, Mattie worked at the California State Library for 9 years for then State Librarian, Dr. Kevin Starr. She holds a masters degree in Public History from Sacramento State University and an MLIS from San Jose State University which she completed in 2005.
