An Artist philosophy on Life

Its’ the bread and jelly

The “bread” is your foundation, your main income otherwise known as your job. The “jelly” is your art, your craft. Jelly is the thing you are happy to do, so much the better if you can get paid.

I’m lucky; my bread is loaded with jelly or is it my jelly is smooshed into my bread. I guess it doesn’t matter; I get to experience life on a daily basis doing what I enjoy.

Because I do, I can be choosy about the “jelly” projects I take on. I do them because I want to, not to get a check at the end of the day. I do them because they inspire my soul, not because I am worried about the gas bill. I do them not seeking glory, but to give service. I do them because I can.

As an artist, I live within my means, so I never have to become dependant on the jelly projects to take care of me. I also do this because I don’t want the jelly to ever leave a bad taste in my mouth. I can start a project and then stop it if I am uncomfortable.

Have you figured out what the bread and jelly of your life is?

Osram Ne Nsoroma – the 'moon and star'.

It represents love, harmony, faithfulness, and the feminine essence of life.

The symbol is the north star (female) awaiting the return of her partner, the moon (male).
