Erin Barsan

Minneapolis Institute of Art
NDSR Art Resident
Minneapolis, MN
Erin is part of the inaugural cohort of the National Digital Stewardship Residency for Art Information (NDSR Art) at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia), where she is taking a lead role in developing a framework for the stewardship of the museum’s rapidly-growing time-based media art collection. Tailoring the work of leaders in the field to fit Mia’s specific needs, Erin aims for her efforts to serve as a model for similarly-sized institutions also facing the challenges of how best to acquire, exhibit, and preserve their own collections of complex media works. Her previous experience includes archival projects for the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay & Lesbian Art, the New York School of Interior Design Library, and the Columbia University Rare Book & Manuscript Library. She holds an MSLIS with an Advanced Certificate in Archives from Pratt Institute and a BFA in Graphic Design from Columbia College Chicago.
