The presenters introduce several initiatives that are laying the groundwork for more effective access to information: the U.S. Presidential Directive on Managing Government Records, related NARA efforts to rethink electronic recordkeeping and make better use of technology, ARMA Internationals Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles, and national and international standards such as ISO 15489 and ANSI/ARMA 18-2011. Panelists invite attendee participation in exploring the challenges and opportunities of these initiatives to provide improved access to information.
