How can we connect students to history? One way is by teaching them how to discover their own stories - and those of their families. More than 180 ninth-grade students at Esperanza Academy Charter School in north Philadelphia spent the spring of 2013 learning how to "do" history. The exhibit, La Historia de mi Familia, shares the family history stories uncovered by thirty of the Esperanza ninth-graders.
