Maryland Institute College of Art
Digital Initiatives Librarian
Baltimore, MD
As the Digital Initiatives Librarian at Maryland Institute College of Art's Decker Library, my work focuses on bridging the gap between artist and archivist utilizing technology. I teach workshops like "Digital Humanities for Art Historians" and "Omeka in the Classroom." My approach to information, cultural, and digital literacy is to illustrate that art is information. I'm Pratt Institute School of Information alum and I've been working in libraries and archives for over 10 years, including Barnard College, Columbia University, and Smithsonian Channel.

At ARLIS/NA in New Orleans, I'll be co-presenting with my MICA colleague Siân Evans on the "Critical Information Literacy in Art and Design Libraries," along with Stephanie Grimm from Savannah College of Art and Design. We'll be talking about how we've used Beyoncé's work in instruction sessions and my research guide "Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' and Information Resources."

I'm a first generation American Latina promoting #libeyrianship every chance I get.
