Jessica Lacher-Feldman was appointed as Head of Special Collections for Louisiana State University's Hill Memorial Library beginning June 18, 2013. She formerly served as Curator of Rare Books and Special Collections at the W.S. Hoole Special Collections Library at The University of Alabama, where she worked from 2000-June 2013 as curator and before that as Public and Outreach Services Coordinator. She served as the project manager for Publishers' Bindings Online, 1815-1930: The Art of Books, an IMLS-funded collaborative digital project between the University of Alabama and The University of Wisconsin-Madison. As an active member of the Society of American Archivists, she served as an SAA representative to CALM (Committee on Archives, Libraries and Museums) and has just been appointed to the SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Task Force on the Development of Standardized Statistical Measures for the Public Services of Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries. She is a former chair of the Reference, Access and Outreach Section of SAA, and former member of the Education Committee, subcommittee on Continuing Education. She served on SAA Local Arrangements Committee for SAA's annual meeting in Birmingham, Alabama in 2002. She teaches a workshop for SAA, Exhibits in Archives and Special Collections, and is the author of Exhibits in Archives and Special Collections Libraries, published by SAA in 2013. Jessica holds certification from the Academy of Certified Archivists (2001 - present). She also taught as an adjunct professor of Archives in the University of Alabama School of Library and Information Studies. She holds an undergraduate degree in French Studies, a Master's Degree in History and an MLS from the University at Albany in Albany, New York.
