Matthew is the Processing Archivist of Visual Resources responsible for processing collections of visual resources, chiefly photography, at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, as well as the former chair of the Visual Materials Section (2014-2015). He is a co-author of People of the Big Voice: Photographs of Ho-Chunk Families by Charles Van Schaick, 1879-1942 (2011), as well as Through a Woman's Eye: The Early 20th Century Photography of Alabama's Edith Morgan (2015). Matthew also teaches courses in history and the history of photography at Quinnipiac University.
